You learn the code sets and their official guidelines, then practice on realistic notes every week: choosing E/M levels under current medical decision making rules, applying modifiers, handling bundling edits and writing provider queries when the note does not support a code. By the end you have coded hundreds of encounters and had every one reviewed.

- Chapter-specific guidelines and sequencing
- Coding from documentation, not from the superbill
2CPT and HCPCS (weeks 4 to 7)
- CPT structure and the surgical package
- Evaluation and management leveling by medical decision making and by time
- Modifiers: 25, 59 and X modifiers, 24, 57, bilateral and multiple procedures
- HCPCS Level II: drugs, supplies, injections
- NCCI edits, bundling and unbundling
3Specialty coding (weeks 8 to 10)
- Primary care and preventive services
- Cardiology, orthopedics and dermatology outpatient procedures
- Behavioral health and telehealth
- Injections, infusions and in-office procedures
4Professional practice (weeks 11 to 12)
- Coding quality review and accuracy measurement
- Provider queries and compliance principles
- Coding-related denials and how to read them
- Certification exam strategy and timed practice
Practical component
Weekly coding sets of 25 to 40 synthetic encounters with documentation, reviewed and scored; two timed mock exams.
Assessment
Weekly graded sets, a midterm and a final timed exam. Overall pass mark 75% with a final exam mark of at least 70%.
Completion
Complete all weekly sets, attend or watch all sessions, and pass the final exam. A Revelrex certificate of completion is issued.
